I would agree BoS is looking more like Wings of Prey than 1946 so far. It has great sound and graphics and the MP players seem very happy but there is a lot of concern among SP players about the depth and immersion of the SP Campaign. If you're a hardcore SP combat flight simmer BoS might not be for you, but for something a little gamier it might be perfect. We'll have to wait and see. Many of the same people, including the lead designer of Il-2 1946 (Russians, mostly) worked on both, but I'm not quite sure this amounts to the "same developer".
